UNDERSTANDING AND ENGAGING WITH MULTICULTURAL SPECIAL NEEDS FAMILIES – Part 1

In 2019, a group, along with our co-Sr. Pastor, attended Key Ministry’s Inclusion Fusion Live 2019 (#IFL2109). We learned about disability ministry and family support from amazing speakers, disability leaders, and special needs parents. 2 years later, God brought the opportunity to have me write as a guest blogger on Key Ministry’s website and speak on a panel at Inclusion Fusion Live 2021, alongside the same dynamic disability leaders that we learned from (and I’m still continuing to gain knowledge from these incredible leaders).

As a Key Ministry guest blogger, I shared part 1 of 2 on understanding and supporting cross-cultural or multi-cultural special needs families. This post focuses on the importance of understanding cultural backgrounds and expressing cross-cultural competence. Part 1 of a two-part article on how churches can connect with and support multicultural special needs families is available at https://www.keyministry.org/church4everychild/2020/12/8/understanding-and-engaging-with-multicultural-special-needs-families
